When I purchased my new 3gs I wanted to protect it right out of the box. So I opted for a red iskin solo because it wa the thinnest case icoukd find at the apple store

I have been a long time fan of zagg skins because I like the naked iPhone size and feel… But the skin on the back of my white iPhone began looking dingy and discolored. And the corners began picking up lint…

After using the iskin for a week, I am not too impressed.

I had to remove it the iskin in order to dock it to my external speakers when I was the beach… Not cool

I like how it covers the bezel, but it looks like the bottom edge is already getting stretched out.

I have ordered a really cool looking metallic case from
More- thing.com

Update - just got the new case. Love It!

It it really rad

Only complaint is that it doesn’t cover the bezel completely… Not a big deal though :-)

Also - ditched the mirror file that came with the iskin

Now I rocking the anti glare from power support

Love it!

Very pleased with this setup

You should try it!

bose_on_earSo my main Bose On Ear headphone broke :-(

Big problem because I wear them like 6 hours a day for increased focus and less interruptions.

So I went to best buy and picked up a pair of beats by dre ($325)

After being used to the comfort of my Bose…  apparently I was spoiled.

beats-by-dr-dre-thumb-480x439Although the sound was great.

Better Lows and louder at a lower volume settings…  (the sound was comparable to my Bose On ears.

So I ordered a pair of Bose quiet comfort 3 in hopes that they would be superior to my old Bose.

The qc3s get 2 thumbs down to me because you cannot listen to music unless the noise cancelling is turned on.

This means that if your battery dies… You are screwed!

So… I have to “worry” about keeping a battery charged!!!

No way dude :-(

quietcomfort3_1

Not tiki friendly. Too much stress.

So the surprising winner for me right now….

My old Bose on-ears that you can buy at Target do like $180

22-148-374-01Another thing that is not possible with a PC. (well possible but really sloppy)

I was close to running out of space on my main hard drive on my MBP.

I am blogging this because it was so friggin’ easy… I still cannot believe it.

So I ordered the new Seagate 500 GB 7200 rpm from newegg.com (my main source for tech stuff)

Prep.

1. Put the new HD in an enclosure that I got from OWC.

2. Use Disk Utility to partition (make sure you use the GUID option)

3. Used the SuperDuper program to “clone” my main 320 GB HD. (took about 3 hours)

4. Boot with the attached hard drive to make sure it works (hold the alt/option key)

5. Took it out of the enclosure and swapped out the drive (OWC website has a great video on how to do it)

6. Boot it up - Done :-)

Works perfectly.

I could have done a clean install. This is what I had to de with my PCs in the past because Windows would build up all kinds of “crap” and start running slow.

I have a dookie load or programs and still would have been like a 3 week process getting all my programs back on.. SOOO
I am very, very pleased with this setup.

That is one of the biggest reasons I love the mac OS. No “crap” No spyware or Viruses.

Just works!!! Yipeee.

Jon's Tiki HutLast summer I built my “Tiki Hut”.  I must say that this project was super-fun!

Update:  The thatch I bought didn’t last the winter.  It got brittle and broke apart.  I am in the process of finding some synthetic thatch to replace the crappy thatch I bought.

tip - I read on one site that their thatch is durable and can be cut without unraveling the entire roll.  I may try it.

Anyway, summer is here again and its time to build the tiki bar!

….. be back in a few
